As a North Carolinian, I’m disappointed we weren’t ranked lower on this list. Let’s be real, Virginia and Florida historically are way more southern. NC only joined the confederacy after we saw all the other states around us (Virginia, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee) had penned us in. Plus, we’re home to Duke University, or as we UNC fans call it, the New Jersey Institute of Ivy League Rejects.

One of my friends said the city where he lives already has several DG and one of them is a DG market. He also said over half of them are within 5 minutes of him. He said they started breaking ground to build another DG and the citizens there actually sign a petition basically saying "NO MORE Dollar General Stores!" It stopped them but only delayed the inevitable because another DG was built at a different time.

I worked for them about 25 years ago. I lasted 2 weeks at that hellish job. The biscuits were the only good thing to eat there. Glad to see them go. They were like fine dining for trashy people.

Goodbye biscuits, coconut shrimp, alfredo, scampi. I will miss you but the alfredo didnt taste the same after the pandemic.

Lolol they doubled their prices after the pandemic too. Seafood prices went up too which didnt help.
